Ben Olmos sees his Structural Architecture for the first time, on air

Ben calls himself a natural skeptic: a PhD, science-minded, and someone who has run Myers-Briggs and DISC with teams for years. All Ric had was his name and his birth date, time and place. The read runs from 20:05 to 1:09:30, then Ben gives his verdict.

  1. Setting the frame before the report opens: watch his reactions, nothing is broken, there are constraints but no limitations.
  2. Opening the document, leading with what the most traditions agree on.
  3. The first finding, read word for word, then silence. Ben: "that's a wow."
  4. From finding to practice: what it asks of him.
  5. A finding he takes too literally. Ric reads on and the real meaning lands.
  6. Letting him take a beat and tell the story himself.
  7. Constraints: load-bearing walls, not limitations.
  8. Asking a direct question from a constraint, and making it easy to answer.
  9. Applying it to the pillars: decisions, communication, revenue.
  10. A dated timing window, and what to do until it closes.
  11. Asking for his verdict. At 1:11:47: "the Reader's Digest version of this."
  12. "I'm literally just reading words on a page."

Jannette Anderson's report, read in front of her audience

Jannette shares her own report on screen and asks for 2 things that help her and 2 that get in her way. The read starts at 18:51.

  1. She opens her report and sets the ask.
  2. The first finding, read word for word, then: "How does that resonate?"
  3. Naming it as how she is built, then what to do with it.
  4. A constraint, and the 5-minute rule that goes with it.
  5. "This is not a lesson you haven't learned yet. You're not broken."
  6. Crediting the fix she has already made.
  7. A timing finding. When she starts to explain it, Ric reads her the rest of the page.
  8. How the report is used with clients.
  9. Her verdict.

How a read is run

The same moves turn up in both reads. Nothing here is a script. You do not need to interpret the report, and you do not need to know a single one of the 7 systems.

Before you open it

Set the frame

Nothing in it is broken or wrong. There are no limitations, only constraints. Ask them to tell you if something does not fit.

Each finding

Read the words on the page, then ask

Read it as written. Then ask "How does that resonate?" and stop talking.

When it lands

Let them tell the story

The client's own example is worth more than anything you can add. Give them the room.

When it misses

Read the rest before you defend it

A finding taken too literally usually lands a paragraph later.

Constraints

Load-bearing walls, not limitations

Say what it is and that it is not going away, then credit what they already do about it.

At the end

Ask for their verdict

Ask what they make of it, in their own words.

The document tour · 32 min

One report, opened and read page by page

The Steve Jobs report on screen, section by section, with what each part is for and where a coach picks it up.

Plate III · Walkthrough of a Structural Architecture · 32 min

What the tour covers

Six passes over one report, in the order a client meets it.

  1. Where the report comes from Birth data in, 7 systems, one document out. No questionnaire, no interview, and nothing for the client to fill in.
  2. Opening the document The first pages, as a client sees them, and what the shape of the thing tells them before they read a word of it.
  3. How a person is described The section that names how this one person is wired, and why it reads as a description rather than a compliment.
  4. The don't list What the client is structurally not built to do, and why coaches keep saying this is the part that changes the next 6 months of work.
  5. Where a coach picks it up The specific places in the document a coach can open a session from, and what to do with a finding a client resists.
  6. The handover How the report reaches the client, what happens on the consent step, and what arrives in the coach's hands afterwards.

What you are looking at

A Structural Architecture is a written diagnostic report on one person: how they are wired, what they are built to do, and what they are structurally not built to do, computed from their birth data across 7 systems that never met your client.

Your client never fills out a questionnaire. It cannot be gamed, flattered, or faked, and your client knows that the moment they read it.

The document is the map. It still takes a coach to drive a client anywhere with it.

What it changes for your client

Three things happen, and they happen in this order.

First

They stop arguing with themselves

The first thing most clients say is not "thank you." It is "oh thank God, it's not my fault." You will be in the room for that, and they will remember you were.

Second

They believe the thing you already told them

You hand your client the report, and you watch them read the exact thing you have been telling them for months, and finally believe it, because this time it did not come from you alone.

Third

They stop spending months on the wrong wall

The report names what your client is structurally not built to do. You stop spending sessions ramming clients through walls they were never going to get through.

You've earned that moment 100 times. You've just never had a witness.
